Welcome to DM Wardie Fine Art Studio

Art is how we pass along our story in visual form. Creating a true, good and beautiful representation of our world is what is important to me.  Although true and good are not always synonymous, I try to focus on the good truths in our world instead of the ugly truths. So, that begs the question, “How do I decide what is true, good and beautiful enough to be the subject of my art?” The short answer is that I look for things that speak to my heart in some way.  Having grown up around horses, I think my destiny was sealed early on to duplicate these beautiful creatures in my artwork.  A variety of action and rest is present in my art. The movement of a horse engaged in some sort of work or in flight from something or the moment when he stops to look at something on full, high alert, or to graze on grass or munch on hay, they all evoke a stirring in my being that causes me to want to create.  The same goes for the human and canine subjects of my art; I simply like to duplicate the everyday and the exceptional.  There is so much beauty in the moments we experience in life and when the viewer feels that same connection to my subject through my sculpture, then I know I have accomplished what I set out to do; capture the everyday and make it true, good and beautiful.
